SADIEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Authorities say a Harrison County teenager on his way to take a college entrance exam was killed when his vehicle flipped over an embankment.

According to WKYT-TV (https://bit.ly/1DsXHM7), the incident happened near Sadieville around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Harrison County coroner Tom Ware said 17-year-old Colton Lane Burus was on his way to take the ACT when he apparently lost control of his truck.

Authorities don’t suspect drugs or alcohol was involved.

Ware said Burus was an honor student, a flight commander in Junior ROTC, and a two-time state athlete.

Burus’ mother, Brendi Haynes, wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday: “The light of my world was snuffed out day. He was an amazing son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.”
