BELL, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the discovery of a human skull found in the Los Angeles River.

A spokeswoman says the skull was found Sunday morning by two people walking in the riverbed in Bell near the San Gabriel Freeway.

It’s not known how long the skull was there and there’s no initial indication of a cause of death.

Homicide detectives ask anyone with information about the skull to call (323) 890-5500.
