TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say one man was killed and two people were hurt after a car collided with another vehicle at an intersection in the Tucson area.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office says the incident occurred just before 10 a.m. Saturday near Irvington Road and Hotel Drive.

Witnesses told deputies that a Dodge Durango going at a high speed ran a red light and collided with a Ford utility vehicle.

Deputies say 65-year-old Manuel Carpio was driving the Durango and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

They say the 51-year-old driver of the Ford and his passenger, a 55-year-old woman, were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
