SEATTLE (AP) - Amtrak says passenger train service has resumed between Everett and Seattle after a 48-hour safety moratorium was lifted.

Amtrak said in a statement early Sunday that BNSF Railway has cleared its tracks and re-opened the route.

A mudslide hit railroad tracks at 12:30 a.m. Friday near Edmonds.
