MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) - A southwest Ohio college is offering grants of up to $500 to draw first-time students to its campus in Middletown.

The Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News reports (https://bit.ly/1yCF1Xa ) that Cincinnati State Technical and Community College has some $50,000 in grants from a partnership that helped develop its branch campus in Butler County. Cincinnati State says the grants are aimed at students who have been out of high school working or didn’t finish their educations.

The amount of the grant depends on how many credit hours they take.

Applicants must be first-time students at Cincinnati, enrolled in a Middletown degree or certificate program, and must takes classes at Middletown in Spring 2015. Middletown is about halfway between Cincinnati and Dayton.
