WOODSTOCK, Va. (AP) - A Virginia man has been charged with a felony firearms violation after a woman was accidentally killed during a target shoot.

The Daily News-Record (https://bit.ly/1INpF5i) reports 37-year-old Shawn Jason Nicely of Woodstock was charged last week with reckless handling of a firearm.

Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Scott Proctor says 46-year-old Gina Angela Shoemaker was shot in her home in Jerome on Nov. 23.

Proctor says deputies responding to the shooting found Nicely and a relative of his target shooting nearby.
