HONOLULU (AP) - Honolulu emergency responders were called to two locations Sunday in response to children who nearly drowned.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser (https://bit.ly/12VO5J3) reports Emergency Medical Services personnel at 3:45 p.m. were called to Ko Olina in west Oahu in response to a 3-year-old boy found unconscious in a swimming pool.

He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Paramedics 15 minutes later took a call on a 7-year-old boy pulled unconscious from water off Sand Island Parkway.

The boy ran into difficulty while swimming.

Paramedics performed CPR and the boy started breathing on his own. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
