BRITTON, S.D. (AP) - Officials expect to recover about half of the grain after a 40,000-bushel grain bin collapsed at an elevator in northeastern South Dakota.
The bin at the Wheaton Dumont Co-op elevator in Britton developed a leak and collapsed Sunday afternoon.
CEO Philip Deal tells the American News (https://bit.ly/1wzHnD2 ) that the collapse also destroyed conveyors and other overhead equipment.
Wheaton Dumont has elevators in 10 communities and agronomy centers in four communities in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota.
