WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A girl has been hurt after being pulled underneath a float during the Weaverville Christmas Parade.

Weaverville Police Chief Greg Stephens says the 11-year-old girl was sitting on top of the float during the Saturday afternoon parade. He says her feet dangled in front of the tire, and she was pulled underneath.

The parade continued as scheduled, and the girl was taken to a hospital. Stephens says the girl didn’t suffer life-threatening injuries, but the severity of her condition wasn’t immediately available.
