PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Officials are holding a ceremonial groundbreaking for a development in an old power station in Providence that will include a nursing education center, offices for Brown University and graduate student housing.

The ceremony for the more than $200 million South Street Landing project is scheduled for Monday.

The nursing center scheduled to open in 2016 will be shared by the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College.

The project is being built by a private company, which will then lease the space for the nursing center and to Brown.

The development received $54 million in state and federal tax credits, and a city property tax stabilization agreement.
