BANGOR, Maine (AP) - Children who visit the Airport Mall in Bangor, Maine, don’t have to wait until Christmas morning to get a gift.

Mike Strout has been the mall’s Santa for a decade. He told WCSH-TV (https://on.wcsh6.com/1Dx8S6k) that after hearing from many children from needy families, he and his wife began buying toys with their own money four years ago to give to each child who stops by to say hello or take a picture with Santa.

Strout says he and his wife don’t have children, so this is a way to make other children happy. Many local organizations and community members have contributed to his cause by donating toys each year.
