ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Birmingham Brother Rice quarterback Alex Malzone was named Michigan high school football player of the year by MLive Media Group.
Malzone was honored over the weekend. He was picked as the top player by 27 of the 50 voting members across the state.
Malzone was named player of the year in Division 1-2 by The Associated Press last month.
Malzone completed 211 of 325 passes for 2,998 yards and 38 touchdowns with five interceptions as Brother Rice went 11-1 this season.
