DOVER, Del. (AP) - Dover Police say a man trying to buy marijuana was shot at by the would-be drug dealer.

Police say the man approached two young men in the parking lot of the Hamlet Shopping Center Sunday afternoon and asked about buying marijuana. Officers say the transaction did not take place, and the victim walked away.

Authorities say one of the young men ran after the victim, displayed a handgun and tried to rob him. Police say the two struggled with the gun, and the victim broke free and ran.

Officers say the suspect fired two shots at the victim. Police say one bullet went through the victim’s coat and shirt, but did not hit him.
