BELTSVILLE, Md. (AP) - Prince George’s County Police have identified a man who was struck and killed by a MARC train in Beltsville.

Officers say 41-year-old Ascenscion Guevara of Beltsville was hit by the commuter train about 6:15 a.m. Monday. Police say Guevara, who was pronounced dead at the scene, apparently was trying to cross the train tracks on Baltimore Avenue to get to a coffee shop.

The Maryland Transit Administration said trains were held for several hours after the accident. Service returned to normal about 10:45 a.m.
