SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The father of Michael Brown visited a San Francisco church on Sunday to thank those who supported his family after a Ferguson, Missouri police officer fatally shot his unarmed son.

The Oakland Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1yQWAhr ) that Michael Brown Sr. spoke for barely a minute to a packed worship hall of Third Baptist Church. He said “we have a major problem going on … Enough is enough; we have to stand together as a people.”

Michael Brown was 18 when he was killed by Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson following an altercation on Aug. 9.

His killing sparked nationwide protest and unrest in Ferguson.

The elder Brown called the looting that has been interspersed with the protests “disrespectful” and pleaded for peace as a county grand jury decided whether to indict Wilson.
