PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - U.S. Sen.-Elect Mike Rounds from South Dakota will serve on four committees in the upcoming Congress.

Rounds says he has been selected to the Armed Services Committee; Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee; Environment and Public Works Committee; and Veterans Affairs Committee.

Rounds says all four committees focus on issues that are important to South Dakota.

The new senator is scheduled to be sworn in on Jan. 6.
