ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - One man is dead and two other people are injured after a house fire in Fairfax County.

Fire department officials say firefighter were called to the house in the 7000 block of Barber Road in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County about 10 p.m. Monday and found heavy fire.

Officials say an elderly woman and her son escaped the fire with non-life-threatening injuries. But firefighters found a man’s body inside the home.

About 75 firefighters were called to the two-alarm fire to help extinguish the flames.

Fire officials say they are working to identify the man. Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
