DENVER (AP) - Police are investigating after a man was hit and killed by a light-rail train in south Denver.

Department spokesman Ron Hackett tells KMGH-TV (https://bit.ly/16reosJ ) the man, whose name and age have not been released, walked past several no trespassing signs on his way to a tunnel near the Colorado Station at about noon Tuesday.

Hackett says he does not know if the man’s death was an accident or a suicide.

Regional Transportation District spokeswoman Tina Jaquez says buses were used to take passengers through the affected area. Service resumed about three hours later.
