McLOUD, Okla. (AP) - A McLoud police officer is hospitalized after his patrol car was struck by a garbage truck.

Police told reporters that the truck struck the police car on the driver’s side Tuesday morning and the officer was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital. The officer’s name and condition and the trash truck driver’s name and condition were not immediately released.

Authorities say the crash occurred about 7 a.m. on State Highway 102.
