NAGS HEAD, N.C. (AP) - The Nags Head police charged in a domestic assault case has returned to work.

The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk, Virginia, reported (https://bit.ly/1qWa3qy ) that 44-year-old Kevin Brinkley is back on the job.

A news release from the town of Nags Head said Brinkley had been placed on paid leave after he and his wife, 44-year-old Rochelle, had an argument Nov. 28 at their home in Currituck County.

Nags Head is in Dare County.

Brinkley was charged with simple assault and released on an unsecured $5,000 bond. His next court date is Jan. 26. His wife was also charged.

Town Manager Cliff Ogburn says his investigation found no reason to keep Brinkley on paid leave. Ogburn said he conducted numerous interviews, including with Brinkley’s wife, and reviewed case documents.
