NEWARK, Ohio (AP) - A central Ohio prosecutor says a police officer who ran down a suspect with an SUV after another officer was shot did not nothing wrong.

Licking County Prosecutor Ken Oswalt said Monday that he found no evidence of wrongdoing by the Newark police in the November incident, and he won’t take the case to a grand jury.

Police say suspect Randall Hutchison led officers on a chase Nov. 5 before he shot at an officer, hitting him in the arm. Later, police say, Hutchison raised his gun to fire at another officer, and that officer intentionally ran into him with an unmarked SUV.

Hutchison remains hospitalized in critical condition and hasn’t been able to talk to officers.

The officer who was shot wasn’t seriously hurt.
