EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Lane County sheriff’s officers have arrested a 24-year-old Oregon man after the man’s male roommate reported he’d been assaulted with a giant Christmas decoration.

The Register-Guard reports (https://is.gd/H9bi3o ) the sheriff’s office says the decoration was described as an outdoor 6-foot-tall spiral Christmas tree.

Sgt. Carrie Carver says the alleged assault took place Sunday night in the small community of Veneta, west of Eugene, Oregon.

Deputies responding to a dispute report found the victim, a 22-year-old man who said his roommate had pushed the large tree onto him. Carver declined to discuss the victim’s injuries, citing an ongoing investigation.

The sheriff’s office says the 24-year-old man was booked into jail for investigation of fourth-degree assault.
