BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Authorities have charged a Bismarck man with escape after they say he walked away from the Bismarck Transition Center.

KXMB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1uMFor5 ) 36-year-old Joshua Hiler was arrested in a Wal-Mart parking lot after he walked away from the center on Saturday. The center is a community-based correctional program that aims to help nonviolent offenders transition back into the community. Hiler was there for past drug felonies, including intent to deliver methamphetamine.

Hiler was also charged with theft of property after police say he stole a pair of pants.

Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
