CHERRY GROVE, S.C. (AP) - The state Department of Natural Resources is stocking the waters along the north coast of South Carolina with hundreds of red drum.

The agency is releasing the fish on Tuesday at the Cherry Grove boat landing near the North Carolina border.

About 500 red drum are being released as part of a program to augment natural red drum stocks. The fish is popular with anglers and is also known as spottail bass, redfish or channel bass.
