RED WING, Minn. (AP) - Authorities say a Red Wing boy has died in a hunting accident in western Wisconsin.

Red Wing Superintendent Karsten Anderson sent a message to parents Monday alerting them that staff and students were informed Monday of the death of eighth-grader Logan Hinrichs. Officials in Pierce County, Wisconsin say Hinrichs died over the weekend of a gunshot wound while hunting in Maiden Rock.

The Post-Bulletin reports the superintendent says counselors are providing support to students.
