RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - The Eastern Shoshone Tribe has announced plans to expand the Shoshone Rose Casino on U.S. Highway 287 north of Lander.

The tribe said it had approved a $25 million loan for the expansion that will build a 65-room hotel with more than 500 slot machines and table games, an outdoor restaurant patio, conference rooms and swimming pool.

Eastern Shoshone Business Council chairman Darwin St. Clair Jr. says the project will expand economic development and employment opportunities for tribal members and the surrounding communities.

The Riverton Ranger reports (https://bit.ly/1wW1QVP ) that nearly 90 new construction jobs will be created during the 12-month construction period, which is set to begin in the spring. Permanent casino and hotel jobs also are expected to increase to a total of roughly 130 employees.
