GENOA, Ohio (AP) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol says alcohol is suspected in a two-car crash that killed two people in northern Ohio.

It happened Tuesday in Ottawa County.

Troopers say 65-year-old Harold Snyder of Toledo was traveling southbound on state Route 51 in Clay Township when he tried to pass another vehicle and crashed head-on into a car driven by 84-year-old George Neukom of Tiffin.

Snyder’s car went off the road and overturned, throwing him from the vehicle.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. State police say neither man was wearing a seat belt.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Snyder is suspected of having alcohol in his system.

The crash remains under investigation.
