RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A Forsyth County business owner was arrested Tuesday on felony tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

State officials say 56-year-old Rhonda E. Reaves of Winston Salem was charged Tuesday with six counts of embezzlement of state property.

Reaves was owner and president of Future Young Scholars Child Development Academy, Inc. Authorities say she aided and abetted the corporation to embezzle, misapply and convert to its own use nearly $30,000 in state withholding tax from January 1, 2008, through January 31, 2014.

Reaves is scheduled to appear in court next month. A judge has set $50,000 bond, and it wasn’t known if she had an attorney.
