HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) - A man will serve at least 12 years in prison after being sentenced in the strangulation death of his wife in High Point.

The High Point Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1zoWQs0) that 35-year-old Arab Mohamed Ali pleaded guilty on Tuesday to second-degree murder in the February, 2013 death of 23-year-old Safaya Dadacha.

He was sentenced to between 12 and 15-and-a-half years in prison, getting credit for time served.

Authorities say the slaying occurred during an argument over money.
