OAK GROVE, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say a 32-year-old North Carolina woman died in a head-on crash in West Carroll Parish.

The accident happened Tuesday night on Louisiana Highway 2, just west of Oak Grove.

Senior Trooper Michael Reichardt says a pickup driven by 43-year-old James Bell of Oak Grove was traveling east on Highway 2 when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a car driven by 22-year-old Gabriel Snyder of Greensboro, North Carolina. Lydia Snyder, a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. State police did not know their relationship.

Reichardt says Bell was impaired at the time of the crash and arrested. He was booked with vehicular homicide, two counts of negligent injury and driving left of center.

It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
