DENVER (AP) - Authorities say the person who was hit and killed by a light-rail train in south Denver was a 14-year-old boy.

The Denver coroner’s office said Wednesday the boy was from Arapahoe County but did not release his name.

Ron Hackett, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department, told KMGH-TV (https://bit.ly/16reosJ ) the boy walked past several no trespassing signs on his way to a tunnel near the Colorado Station at about noon Tuesday.

Hackett said Tuesday he did not know if the death was an accident or a suicide.

Buses were used to take passengers through the affected area, and service resumed about three hours later.
