KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Kalamazoo police have arrested a woman who they say drove a stolen golf cart while drunk.

Public Safety Officer Ariana Gasca says she saw the woman driving the golf cart on a street around 8 a.m. Tuesday. Gasca pulled up to the cart because she thought it was an odd sight in the morning. The 23-year-old Kalamazoo woman pulled the cart over to talk with Gasca.

Gasca says the woman told her a friend had given her the cart to drive. Gasca found items on the car showing that it likely belonged to a local apartment complex. Dispatch confirmed the cart had been stolen and the woman was arrested.

Gasca conducted a series of sobriety tests. The woman faces charges including unlawfully driving away a vehicle and operating while intoxicated.
