SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Police have arrested a Sioux Falls man who they say assaulted his roommate for intervening in an argument over a broken window.

The Argus Leader reports (https://argusne.ws/1wYn1Xt ) a Sioux Falls police spokesman said Tuesday the 58-year-old man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He says the 20-year-old victim called police to his apartment Monday. The victim tells police that the suspect had been arguing with their female roommate about the window and he tried to break up the fight. He says his male roommate grabbed him by the throat, pulled out a knife and threatened him with it.

The spokesman says the suspect was at the apartment when police arrived and they found methamphetamine in his pocket.
