IRONDALE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a set of remains found in Irondale have been identified as a man who was reported missing in June.

Irondale Police Det. Michael Mangina tells AL.com (https://bit.ly/1ApNvOX ) a skull that was found Dec. 9 by a group of men riding four-wheelers has been identified as 43-year-old Roy Gene Pelfrey.

Investigators have also said a piece of the man’s jawbone was found nearby. Mangina says the cause of Pelfrey’s death is unclear, and there was no obvious sign of head trauma.
