MARIANNA, Pa. (AP) - The county coroner says a couple found shot in their southwestern Pennsylvania home were likely victims of a murder-suicide.

The state police have to complete their investigation before that is official, but Washington County Coroner Tim Warco says it appears 49-year-old Curtis Michael shot 47-year-old Julie Bottles in their West Bethlehem Township home before turning the gun on himself.

Police were alerted about 1 p.m. Tuesday by a friend who forced his way into the home and found the bodies.

Warco says other evidence suggests the shootings occurred sometime between 9:15 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say a gun was found at the scene, but haven’t released details about it.

The couple lived at the end of a long driveway, their nearest neighbors hundreds of yards away.
