LISBON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a woman is recovering from minor injuries after the pickup truck she was riding in collided with an Amish buggy on a rural northern New York road.

Emergency officials tell the Watertown Daily Times (https://bit.ly/1zvHpNx ) that the crash occurred Tuesday night on Route 10 in the St. Lawrence County town of Lisbon, on the Canadian border.

Officials say the horse was killed instantly when its head went through the pickup’s windshield, spraying broken glass on a woman from Heuvelton who was riding in the front passenger’s seat. The man driving the truck and four children riding with him weren’t injured.

The four members of the Amish family riding in the buggy also escaped injury.

Several crashes involving Amish buggies have occurred on northern New York roads in recent months.
