ABILENE, Texas (AP) - Authorities in West Texas have charged a former high school administrator with a felony count of improper relationship between a teacher and student.

KTXS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1zyywCM ) 29-year-old Michael Trook was booked into the Taylor County Jail late Wednesday and posted $50,000 bond. Trook resigned earlier in the day as dean of health sciences at Holland Medical High School in Abilene Independent School District.

Superintendent Heath Burns didn’t say what Trook is accused of doing but said the behavior was an embarrassment to district officials. He says Trook resigned after admitting to inappropriate, unethical and unprofessional conduct.

Burns says counselors and support professionals will be made available to students on Thursday and Friday.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Trook has an attorney.
