CURRITUCK, N.C. (AP) - The Ferry Division of the N.C. Department of Transportation is suspending service on its Currituck-Knotts Island ferry route this weekend so it can perform maintenance on the vessel.

Service will be suspended on Dec. 20 and 21.

A statement from the division said work in the M/V Hunt will begin on Saturday morning and is expected to be complete by Sunday afternoon, if not sooner.
