EGAN, S.D. (AP) - The collapse of a grain elevator has resulted in the closure of a small section of Highway 34 east of Egan in eastern South Dakota

State transportation officials say grain spilled onto the roadway after the elevator collapsed. Drivers are being detoured through the town of Egan.

Officials say the highway will remain closed until the grain is completely cleared off the road. The status of the closure is available online at www.safetravelusa.com/sd or by dialing 511.
