HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (AP) - Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone says he’ll sign bills aimed at ending homelessness among local veterans.

Bellone says hundreds of Long Island veterans have no place to call home, and more are at risk of becoming homeless.

County Legislator Steve Stern authored four bills designed to protect veterans from housing discrimination, provide more housing resources and streamline services.

The county legislature passed them unanimously.

The bill-signing is scheduled for Monday in Hauppauge (HAH’-pawg.)
