SOCASTEE, S.C. (AP) - Friends and family of a Horry County woman who disappeared a year ago are planning to hold a vigil at the boat landing where authorities say she was killed.

The prayer vigil for Heather Elvis is scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the Peachtree Landing near Socastee.

Elvis was last heard from on Dec. 18, 2013, after going on a date.

Authorities say a married couple killed her because the husband had an affair with Elvis. Tammy Moorer and her husband Sidney are both charged with murder, even though Elvis’ body has not been found.

Elvis was 20 years old when she disappeared.
