GLASSBORO, N.J. (AP) - The namesake of Rowan University has given the southern New Jersey university another $15 million to support its engineering school.
The gift from Henry Rowan’s family foundation is the second-largest ever to the state university in Glassboro. It was announced Wednesday.
The biggest one is the $100 million that Rowan and his late wife Betty gave in 1992 to the institution then known as Glassboro State College.
That gift transformed the university, which has since added a medical school, among other changes.
The university says its engineering school will now bear Rowan’s name, too.
