SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - The executive director of the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus is leaving his position to become executive director of the Santa Barbara Symphony in California.

Officials said David Pratt’s departure is effective March 1.

Savannah Philharmonic Board Chairwoman Melissa Emery said that Pratt positioned the Georgia organization for its next phase of success. She said a search for a new executive director would begin immediately.

The Savannah Morning News reports (https://bit.ly/1x2EZbd) that Pratt has been executive director of the Savannah Philharmonic for the past four years and has significantly grown the organization and increased its income.
