OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Weber County and the city of Ogden will pay a combined $230,000 to continue a bus service this winter to ferry skiers to northern Utah resorts.

The Ogden city council approved the deal on Tuesday, allowing the service to begin Sunday and run through April 5.

This marks the third winter the Utah Transit Authority buses will shuttle skiers to Powder Mountain and Snowbasin Resorts.

Ogden Chief Administrative Officer Mark Johnson says the service has been popular.

The Standard-Examiner reports (https://bit.ly/1DQIswM ) about nearly 24,000 riders used it two years ago. That grew to about 27,000 riders last winter.

The bus schedule is posted on www.riteuta.com.
