NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - A bus driver who has shuttled passengers between New Jersey and New York City with no accidents for 43 years is retiring.

Family, friends and co-workers will gather at Suburban Transit in New Brunswick on Thursday to honor Steve Majofsky.

Majofsky has traveled through the Lincoln Tunnel more than 50,000 times, driven more than 2.5 million miles and transported more than 1.7 million passengers without an accident during his career.

Suburban Transit general manager Scott Sprengel says the Trenton resident is a role model for all of the company’s drivers.
