CROWLEY, La. (AP) - Crowley husband and wife, who are both attorneys, have been charged with allegedly threatening and arguing with police after the officers responded to a 911 call.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1GYYz7u ) John Clay LeJeune was indicted this week on three counts of public intimidation, accused of threatening Crowley police officers, and two counts of resisting a police officer with force or violence.

His wife, Mitzi Mayeaux, faces a charge of public intimidation.

The state Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case.

The couple’s attorney, Barry Sallinger, said police on May 25 kicked in the unlocked door of the couple’s home when responding to a report that a girl or woman was screaming “help me.”

He says the couple’s daughter was actually yelling “daddy,” to help her capture the family’s dog after it escaped.
