ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - A 30-year-old man has been charged with felony hit-and-run in the death of a 44-year-old mother of eight in Orange County

Daniella Palacios died Nov. 1 after being hit by a pickup truck while bicycling in Anaheim.

On Friday, Junior Lopez appeared in court a day after the arrest that came some six weeks after the crash. He did not enter a plea and his arraignment was delayed until January. It wasn’t clear whether he had hired an attorney.

A district attorney’s statement says he’s being held on $500,000 bail.

Palacios’ relatives said she had eight children between 9 and 28 years old, and 11 grandchildren.
