OSSINEKE, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a house fire in which a 63-year-old man died in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula likely was accidental.

Michigan State Police Special Sgt. John Richards tells The Alpena News (https://bit.ly/1xtG4IK ) that the fire in which Randy Paul Stark died wasn’t suspicious in origin. He says he couldn’t say for certain what caused Tuesday fire in the Alpena County community of Ossineke

Richards says it “appears to be accidental.”

Sanborn Township Fire Department Chief Dale Hart says Stark had succumbed to smoke inhalation before two firefighters pulled him from the burning home.
