KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - The body of a 13-year-old boy who jumped off into ocean water off a cliff Sunday near Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area has been recovered.

West Hawaii Today (https://bit.ly/1GyL28x) reports the body of Gwyneth Agustin Borromeo, who also went by the name of Jayson, was recovered Wednesday from an underground cavern system.

Hawaii rescue personnel just after 10 a.m. Sunday responded to the scene. Lifeguards were already searching for the Waikoloa youth.

Witnesses said the boy jumped into the water from the 15-foot cliff known as “Jump Rock” south of the recreation area with two other 13-year-old boys and could not get out.

Hawaii police say an autopsy concluded he drowned.
