PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Brown University and several community organizations are hosting a forum addressing the relationship between minorities and law enforcement in the wake of grand jury decisions not to indict white police officers in the killings of unarmed black men.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/13llrRO ) that Saturday’s event is called “Racism, State Oppression & the Black Community: Ferguson and Beyond.” It will be held at the South Side Cultural Center in Providence.

The forum follows grand jury decisions not to indict the white police officers who killed two unarmed black men in Ferguson, Missouri, and New York City.

The event is being put on by Brown’s Center for the Study of Slavery & Justice, the Mount Hope Neighborhood Association, the Providence Youth Student Movement, the Providence Africana Reading Collective and OneVoiceRI.
